To apply for financial aid, families need to complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) through the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) which will be available on October 2, 2020.  In addition to completing the PFS, families will need to upload supporting documents, such as tax returns and W-2’s for applicants from the United States and official income/wage statements for applicants residing outside the United States.

Based on the information shared in SSS, each school’s financial aid committee will use its own internal financial aid policies to determine how much the family can contribute to their child’s education. The difference between the family contribution and the cost of attendance is then covered by financial aid.  Each school completes their own analysis so you may notice differences in your financial aid grants from different schools.

Financial Aid Committees will consider the income and assets of custodial, non-custodial, and guardians before making an award. Each household must submit a separate PFS through SSS.

Families seeking financial aid for the 2020-2021 school year need to complete the financial aid process when applying for admission.  Financial aid application deadlines across TSAO member school vary but will generally fall in January/February 2021. TSAO member schools are unable to guarantee financial aid for families who do not apply or submit all the required supporting documents at the time of application. If you anticipate needing financial aid at any time during your child’s time at one of our schools, it is important to apply for financial aid at the time of admission. While the PFS will be available starting in October, there is no advantage in applying early, as long as you meet stated deadlines.

Financial aid is need-based and families are encouraged to apply for financial aid if they feel the tuition cost and fees will be a barrier to enrolling.

Yes, families who live outside of the US and do not file US taxes may apply for financial aid. If your family is interested in applying for aid, please refer to member schools’ website to confirm their processes and requirements.

Financial aid at our member schools is grant-based, which means you do not have to pay anything back after graduation.

Families must reapply every year for financial aid. If a family’s financial situation does not change dramatically, one can expect to receive roughly the same amount of aid each year.

Merit scholarships are not need based and some of our member schools do offer merit-based scholarships in order to recognize a student's academic talent or ability to be a transformative addition to the community.  To learn more about merit scholarships please refer to member schools’ websites.
